Watercolored Display Board for Library Fundraiser - of course the quilt will be different from this painting - because all the artists are using BRIGHT patterned fabrics - like polka dots, stripes and conversation prints. The 3 stripes throughout the entire piece will be the colors in the painting - red, aqua and orange in the same BRIGHT patterned fabrics, which are the artist's choice. Each artist will choose fabrics that have contrast, so that the lettering will POP out, and that viewers can read the sign from the entrance of the library.
Leah's in Orange has generously donated 10 yards of Warm & Natural Batting for this project! Whooohooo. Section 1 & 2 - Stacy Hurt; Section 3 & 4 - Julie Schlueter; Section 5 - Jamie Fingal; Section 6 - Joanell Connolly; Section 7 & 8 - Terry Waldron; Section 9 & 10 - Cindy Cooksey; Section 11 - Jamie Fingal and Cathy Norton; Section 12 - Peggy Calvert; Section 13 - Vickie Valdez-Green; Section 14 - Anne Copeland. The side panels will be made by everyone.

Side Panels 2' x 5' that will go on each side of the larger quilt - framing the Information Desk Posted by Picasa
The Adventure Starts here - this quilt will be 14 feet wide x 4 feet tall for the new children's section of the Orange Main Library. Artwork by Jamie Fingal. Each art quilter has a section to complete be it 2'x4' or 1'x4' with a 1" margin around the entire piece. Each section will have a top of fused fabrics, Warm & Natural Batting and a back. Each artist will free motion quilt the their own section, and add beads if they so desire. Our goal is to put together the two side panels at our August gathering and to be done with our sections by our October meeting and then we can sew them together. Each artist can document their own progress on this blog by taking digital pictures of their section. Posted by Picasa
