3-D Point of View show in Whittier - Nov 3-28th

The 3-Dimensional Artists Group of the Whittier Art Association presents its Fifth Annual Exhibition; Nov 3-28th; A 3-D POINT OF VIEW; Opening reception Saturday, Nov 6th from 3-6pm; This year the 3-D Group celebrates a milestone exhibit, with over 30 artists in ceramics, polymer clay, fiber art, gourd work, collage/assemblage, jewelry, lapidary, mosaic, sculpture, stained glass and more.  Vickie Valdez will have work in this show. .

Saturday, November 6th members Stacy Hurt and Peggy Calvert will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at the "Christmas Festival". They will have art quilts; hand made quilted cards and darling quilted ornaments. Go check it out and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
There are raffles; tons of booths to visit and FOOD!

Journeys - International Quilt Festival in Long Beach this Summer!

Quilts on the Wall: Fiber Artists selected Journey's as their theme for this year's International Quilt Festival in Long Beach. As the jurors we were taken on a journey through -- dreams, stories, fairy tales, personal journeys, the twists, turns and paths of life, and the mysteries of life that unfolded and inspired the quilts created by the members of Quilts On The Wall: Fiber Artists. The 18 quilts selected speak to the diversity of interpretations that one word can invoke and the creative talents of the members of QOTW. Jurors: Georgia Freedman-Harvey and Cindy Rinne.

12 Connected - Challenge Group

The first challenge for the new challenge group 12 Connected has been revealed. 12 Connected is a group of fiber artists that have banded together to create a series of twelve 11"x17" art quilts over a two year period. The members were to create an 11" x 17" piece fitting the theme “Sanctuary.” Cut-Loose member Anne Copeland belongs to this group, which has members from the US, Canada and Switzerland.
