November Meeting

We met last night at my studio - Stacy Hurt, Anne Copeland, Vickie Valdez Green, Peggy Calvert and me. After dinner, we all made Earth Mother dolls for the Quilting Arts Challenge that is due in December. It was quite fun. Peggy and I went to Michael's earlier in the day to buy supplies, and then she brought some things from home too. The only thing we forgot was a hot glue gun! There's nothing like women gathering to share, to laugh and to support. Vickie Valdez Green has a blog - it's in the right column! Hurray.

I shared the SAQA books with everyone - SAQA@20: Art & Excellence and SAQA: A Sense of Humor AND the new Portfolio 16 - the work of the Professional Artist Members. And Quilt Scene where Peggy was reading part of Rachel Parris' article out loud. Too fun! Where are the scissors? It was great for everyone to pass the books around and hear all of the ooohs and aahs.

We missed seeing Julie Schlueter, Joanell Connolly, Terry Waldron and Cindy Cooksey. We all look forward to our Christmas gathering!

July Gathering

On Friday night we all made these art boxes - when you open them up, there is an accordion picture portfolio in it. This was for one of the workshops that Jamie Fingal is teaching at the International Quilt Festival in Long Beach in Make-It-University. It was great because we worked out all of the glitches before the kits are made. What a team!
